We are delighted that our environmental standards together with our clients’ recycling efforts have been recognized.2007 saw Paper Round winning two awards in demonstration of our internal and external actions.
Paper Round won a top prize at 2011 prestigious Business Commitment to the Environment (BCE) Environmental Leadership Awards ceremony in London. The company won the SME Premier Award for its comprehensive environmental management system (EMS). Results included a 92% recycling rate, 100% diversion of waste from landfill and a reduction in electricity use at its warehouse by 30%.
Founded by Sir Peter Parker in 1975, the BCE Awards scheme is one of the world’s longest-running environmental competitions. It celebrates businesses that an independent judging panel recognises as meeting the commercial demands of the present without compromising the environment.
Sustainable City Award 2010 - Highly Commended for Tackling Climate Change and Environmental Management in SMEs
This year Paper Round was highly commended in two of the City Sustainability Awards categories, Tackling Climate Change and Environmental Management in SMEs. It is a great honour to get recognition for our efforts from a such respected award. We will continue to work towards reducing environmental impact of our operations while helping our customers to manage their waste in the most sustainable way possible.
The award was in recognition of internal improvements Paper Round made to be more sustainable. According to Director Bill Swan “Last year we decided to look a fresh at our own operations to ensure that our environmental performance was truly exceptional. We are delighted that our hard work has been recognised by this sought-after award”
The judges said they had chosen Paper Round because of its thorough approach to improving its environmental performance and for its staff engagement
Paper Round was highly commended in the Best Environmental Business of the Year category.
Paper Round was shortlisted for the Green Business of the Year category.
Paper Round won the award for our extensive use of recycled, fair trade and environmental products throughout our operations.
Entrants need to show how they have integrated sustainability into their practices, products or services and made measurable improvements to their sustainable business practices through more effective management of operations or innovation.
Since 2000 Paper Round has sustained a 37% growth rate and now helps over 3,700 clients within the London area improve their environmental performance.
