Paper Round: CansHow to Recycle Cans

Food and drinks cans can all be recycled along with plastic bottles so you will only need one bin in your kitchen.

What We Do

Paper Round collects these sacks at the same time as your paper and they count towards the minimum three or six sacks required for collection (members only).

What happens to your cans?

Paper Round collects aluminium and steel cans. We take them to a Local Authority facility in South East London. There they are separated using magnets and then baled.

Steel cans are taken to AMG in South Wales where they are de-tinned before the steel is melted down in the blast furnaces.

Aluminium cans are melted down into ingots which are then used in cars, aircraft, etc.

Recycling Bins for Cans

Collect cans and plastic bottles in our grey Slim Jim bin fitted with a green can lid. The lid keeps recycling neat and encourages staff to keep out rubbish. The plastic bin can easily be kept clean and is the right size for our sacks.

Bin with lid costs £52.50. Visit the Paper Round Online Shop to see all of our bins and view specifications and prices.

Do's and Dont's

Do empty and crush cans before you put them in the sacks - you'll get more in!

Do put clean aluminium foil, including sandwich trays, in the sacks.

Don't put any food residues in the sacks.
