Where are Cans Recycled?

Paper Round collects mixed cans, aluminium and steel. We take them to a Local Authority facility in South East London. There they are separated using magnets and then baled. Steel cans are taken to AMG in South Wales where they are de-tinned before the steel is melted down in the blast furnaces. Aluminium cans are melted down into ingots which are then used in cars, aircraft, etc.
