Fluorescent tubes
Paper Round recycles fluorescent tubes.
We offer a service that suits the needs of any office:- Small office: 1-50 tubes per quarter
- Medium office: 50 -200 tubes per quarter
- Large office: over 200 tubes per quarter
Fluorescent tubes are taken for recycling to a highly sophisticated recycling plant. It uses the latest End Cut Technology, accepted by the lamp industry as the highest level of recycling in this field.
The plant cuts off each end of the lamp containing the lead glass component and this is then processed in a separate part of the plant.
The remaining soda lime glass contains phosphor powder. The phosphor is then distilled by batch process to remove the mercury content which like all components is reused back in industry. Finally the glass itself, clear of dangerous materials, can be recycled.
