For your sensitive data to be permanently destroyed, the information must be professionally erased from a working hard drive. Secure Paper achieves this by overwriting all of the data on the drive with EraserDisk, which permanently wipes all data from a hard disk up to the US Government's security requirements of D0D 5520.22-M.
The hard drive is overwritten with various data through seven disk erase passes including a low-level format for complete sterilization. For the extra security EraserDisk uses the test utility to make sure all the data is wiped from the hard drive.
Data destruction offers environmental advantages over physical destruction, giving a device that's safe for second life applications such as donations, redeployment or even sale. However it is only possible for the working equipment.
Where physical destruction is required, your IT equipment is collected by our vetted staff and transported in our secure GPS-tracked trucks to our facility in Rainham. The facility is under constant CCTV surveillance. Your IT equipment and media storage are then shredded making it impossible for any data to be recovered. Upon the completion of the destruction we provide you with a certificate of destruction.
We recommend that hard drives, either standalone or in systems that cannot boot, are shredded as these cannot not be reformatted with EraserDisk. Disposing of IT equipment is governed by many rules and regulations. We are highly experienced in this field and ensure that you comply with all relevant environmental legislation.
