About 6 times a year we hold breakfast events for our clients to come and benefit from Carbon Smart, our sister company’s, environmental knowledge and expertise.

The most recent event was around how to market green credentials. After all, it’s all very well having an environmental award or accreditation, but how can you use that to win business and shape the image of your organisation?

Well, the obvious solution is to let people know about the awards and accreditations you have. The key thing though is to do that without sounding like you’re bragging. The first step is to let your staff know and understand what you have. The more they understand, the more they will be able to use that knowledge to sell or market your products and/or services. Having a dedicated webpage to explain about your accreditations is a good way to market what you have whilst having them in the footer of your webpage or letterhead can help to ensure that anyone who visits your website will know what you have.

As with a lot of things, continuous updates to staff and a team approach are the best ways to help market your green credentials.

Overall the event was a great success with very positive feedback.
