1. Wherever you have a normal bin in the house, have a recycling bin just beside it. That way cardboard, packaging, paper and, as the baby gets older, glass from the food pots, can be popped straight in without even having to think about it.

2. If you’re using disposable nappies, see if there’s a nappy recycling service nearby!

3. Especially in weather like this, try to dry clothes (and non-disposable nappies!) outside and avoid using the dryers which will help save you a lot of money as well as giving them a fresher feel. For the winter months, think about investing in a heated airer. They fold down to store and cost just 3p an hour to run, much cheaper than a dryer and you’ll be saving space for all the extra “stuff”.
