The first ever Sustainable Restaurant Awards

The first ever Sustainable Restaurant Awards were held this month. The Award aims to celebrate outstanding achievements and efforts of restaurants from all corners of the UK to offer diners what they want - high quality, sustainable dining.

The SRA Society Award sponsored by Paper Round was jointly won by London's iconic OXO Tower Restaurant, Brasserie and Bar and healthy fast food outlets Friska of Bristol. This award recognises the restaurants' efforts to engage positively with their staff, customers and local community.

Of note was Friska's creation of The Good Food Network, a schools programme that helps educate young children on the benefits of eating healthily and sourcing produce locally.

OXO Tower was recognised for its excellent staff welfare and exemplary work with charities at both local and national level.
